Trading Online Voucher Scheme Helps Irish Businesses to Create and Enhance Their Online Presence

To support small Irish businesses to enhance their online trading presence, Online Trading Vouchers to the value of € 2,500 (up to a maximum of 50% of the total cost) are now available to Businesses through a programme under the Government’s National Digital Strategy and delivered through the Local Enterprise Offices.The objective of the scheme is to help small businesses grow their sales, exports and ultimately jobs. Small businesses throughout Ireland can now apply for digital vouchers to assist in helping their businesses trade online. Up to 1000 vouchers will be available for qualifying businesses through the network of 31 Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs). Last year this proved to be a huge success for our clients. Not many customers seem to be aware of this excellent scheme, especially Dublin clients with existing websites that need work, don’t seem to be aware of the fantastic support from the Local Enterprise Office to support businesses that want to trade online.

With the trend ever increasing towards online spending it is estimated that only 23% of small Irish businesses are engaged in any meaningful way in eCommerce sales. For businesses employing less than ten people this percentage could be even lower.  It is now believed that of online purchases made in Ireland that 70% of these are done in overseas markets. There is now an urgency to ensure that businesses recognise that this is happening and that they are encouraged and supported to correctly respond to this digital reality. Vouchers will be available to a maximum value of €2,500 or 50% of eligible expenditure, whichever is the lesser.

Who is eligible?

  • The vouchers are targeted at businesses that have a limited online trading presence
  • less than 10 employees
  • turnover less than €2 million
  • applicants must be registered and trading for minimum of 12 months
The Online Trading Vouchers can be used for the development or upgrade of an e-commerce website such as implementing online payments or booking systems.  Other usage includes; purchase of Internet related software, online advertising, development of an app, implementation of a digital marketing strategy, consultation with ICT experts for early stage adopters of online strategy, training/skills development specifically to establish and manage an online trading activity. What the Vouchers can be used for:
  • IT consultation;
  • Development or upgrade of an e-commerce website;
  • Implementing Online payments or booking systems;
  • Purchase of Internet related software;
  • Purchase of online advertising (this purchase cannot make up any more than 30% of approved Voucher costs and can only be drawn down in one payment phase);
  • Developing an app (or multi-platform webpages)
  • Implementing a digital marketing strategy i.e. Social media marketing;
  • Consultation with ICT experts for early stage adopters of online strategy;
  • Training/skills development specifically to establish and manage an online trading activity.

2Cubed are delighted to congratulate our friends at GIY(Grow It Yourself) on their upcoming programme GROW COOK EAT on RTE1 which airs from tonight Wednesday 14th March at 7.30pm. 
 
GROW COOK EAT is GIY’s first TV show. It’s on RTE 1 at 7.30pm on Wednesdays from March 14th 2018 for 7 weeks. Presented by GIY Founder Michael Kelly and Head of Community Development at GIY Karen O’ Donohoe.
 
GROW COOK EAT is a weekly masterclass in food growing at home. Showcasing a different star vegetable every week grown from seed to harvest, they will take you on a journey from pot to plate and show you how to create a delicious meal that anyone at home can easily replicate.

So many people were glad to say goodbye to 2016 and hello to 2017, and we at 2Cubed were also pleased to see a new year roll around. Acorn Property Preservation damp and timber specialists are Certified Surveyors in Remedial Treatment (CSRT) providing you with professional in-dept building surveys for woodworm and associated products, dry rot and wet rot, condensation and mould growth, rising damp and damp proofing. We designed and developed a new eCommerce website for Acorn to help them promote and sell their waterproofing, condensation, and timber treatment products online.

Hyland’s Nursery are producers of quality hedging and trees for over 20 years, operating from their nursery in Oulart, Gorey, Co. Wexford. Hyland’s Nursery are producers and suppliers of Laurel, Griselinia, Escallonia, Bay Laurel, Portuguese Laurel and Holly Evergreen Hedging as well as Beech, Hornbeam, Dogwood, and Willow Deciduous Hedging. They also produce a range of Evergreen and Deciduous Trees. Their new website showcases all their hedging and trees with full product info and prices. Pawfection Dog Training & Behaviour is where you will find Canine Behaviour and Training Consultant Kevin Geraghty, who offers classes on workshops to dog owners for helping with their pet’s behaviour or temperament. Kevin runs regular classes in Dublin for puppies and older dogs, as well as individual and one-to-one sessions. We worked closely with Graham in The Irish Experience to create a beautiful bespoke website that lives up to his tagline “Make It Mór”. The website provides information about all the Experience Tours, Corporate Tours, School and Group Tours on offer, allowing you to book experiences in Ireland including river kayaking, sea kayaking, mountain exploring, and hiking.
